A good action photo tells a story.  

With years of experience as an AP sports photographer, I know that it’s not the camera – it is the eye behind it that finds the moment.   As a parent, I know what that moment is.  In today’s world, everyone has a camera but not everyone is a photographer.   In many ways, it is the same thing that makes an athlete special – their ability to read the situation, to read the players, the strategy, the game.   Being in the right place at the right time, with the right light, the right settings, the right equipment all dictate the quality of the outcome. 

Our Process:

We start with an interview to find what you seek to capture.   The intended purpose of the images has a direct impact on what we seek to capture. As an AG photographer I always knew my mission before I hit the field.

• Document a season

I also want to know what you intend to do with the pictures. Are you wanting to print images, do you want images to post on social media, do you want to create gifts, do you want to create a book documenting a season, a year, or even create your child’s own athletic yearbook?

Are you wanting these images for college recruiting purposes? If so we can work to create a portfolio of images and a video as well.

Schedule games.

Once the intent is established and your order is place, a specific game or games can be selected and scheduled.   As dates become closer, we will view the weather patterns to ensure we can get what we want and need for your final goal. In some cases, we need to get a good sense from you how much your athlete will be playing. 

Day of Shoot.  

We will meet before the game starts to get any additional information.  We suggest that we not disclose to the athletes that they are being photographed.  The Hawthorne effect absolutely influences their play. 

Deliverables:  

Digital images will be processed and delivered.   We will stay the entire game and shoot as many as we can. However, the number of images is highly dependent on the playing time and the action available.  You will be able to view all the images on my fulfillment site.   We have numerous options for printing – all size prints, templates, albums – even mugs, bags, banners, etc.  We offer a 10% discount on these items through this service.
